Karen grew up near the Texas Gulf Coast. She attended Texas A&M University and the University of Houston to obtain a B.S. degree in education. She has written numerous articles and stories, books for children, and novels for adults. Karen particularly enjoys writing romantic suspense and contemporary and historical romance. She has over thirty-five books in both print as well as e-book format and she has several more in the works. Karen likes to write while sitting in a cozy armchair with her cat blocking the computer.
When she is not writing, Karen enjoys her grandchildren, horseback riding, reading, Bible study and dark chocolate. She is retired from public school teaching and uses the experience of working with children to plan and write her children’s books.
She now lives in the Southwest with her artist husband, John Cogan and assorted pets.
